Function of weft accumulator:
The temporarily stored weft yarns are arranged and wound neatly on the surface of the smooth cylinder or cone with small cone angle of the yarn storage drum, which creates good conditions for high-speed unwinding of weft yarn for weft insertion and makes the unwinded weft yarn obtain more uniform tension.

The way that the motor drives the yarn storage drum to rotate for yarn winding is called dynamic drum type. The yarn storage drum with large moment of inertia is used as the yarn winding rotating part with frequent starting and braking, which is unfavorable to high speed.

On the contrary, the motor drives the light-weight winding disc to rotate. The way of winding yarn on the surface of the fixed yarn storage drum is called fixed drum type, which is conducive to high speed and is the development direction of the weft storage device. Adjusting the position of photoelectric yarn storage detector can maintain the yarn storage on the yarn storage drum in a reasonable range, and the yarn arrangement mechanism can make the yarn on the yarn storage drum arranged evenly and orderly.

During weft insertion, the rapier or shuttle overcomes the resistance generated by the damping ring to pull the weft from the yarn storage drum, and the weft tension is controlled by the tensioner. The winding speed of the weft accumulator can be adjusted manually or tracked automatically by the control circuit, so that the winding parts can rotate continuously at a low speed and the bobbin unwinding can be carried out continuously.
